Russak Dermatology Clinic is happy to announce our latest partnership with HeyMama – the most badass league of mom-bosses you know. HeyMama is a hub for all things working mamas, offering an exclusive place for like-minded mothers slash advisors, executives, founders, or CEOs, to link up and support each other’s endeavors.
More on the leading ladies of HeyMama off their site: https://heymama.co/
HeyMama began when founders Amri Kibbler and Katya Libin set out to create what was missing in their own lives: a community of career-driven mothers who have each others’ backs and actively seek to improve their lives and the lives of those around them. Now with members in cities across the US, HeyMama is a league of unstoppable women growing stronger every day.
“A partnership with HeyMama is the perfect alignment for us. I see it as a way to empower other working mothers. I know firsthand what it’s like to juggle a full time and growing career with motherhood (which always comes first!). By offering our individual talents and well of knowledge, we become more self-sufficient, save precious time and connect in a way we often can’t – I hope it will be a successful venture if we can in the very least elevate the working mother conversation.”– Julie Russak, MD

Just in time for back-to-school, we asked the HeyMama co-founders and Dr. Julie Russak, MD of Russak Dermatology Clinic, for their tips on how to give our skin and minds a mental reset before the rush of fall!
REVERSE THE DAMAGE
Dr. Julie Russak, MD: “I have rosacea and melasma but I have a pretty strict regimen that works for my skin. Post-summer is when I like to start my IPL and PRP cycle again. Rosacea is an inflammatory condition that makes my skin very sensitive and inflamed. I am religious with my sun protection and reapply sunscreen all the time, but this also makes the condition flare-up! One of the benefits of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is that it targets redness, and when we add Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to it, I feel it adds a nutritional boost which helps decrease downtime and regenerate newer and stronger cells. IPL also helps get rid of any brown sunspots I gain from running after my boys and hiking during the summer. It’s a win-win.”

RESET THE SPIRIT
Katya Libin, Co-Founder & CEO: “I listen to Tara Brach podcasts and they calm me down at the end of a long day, reminding me of what’s important and how to incorporate mindfulness and Buddhism into my life. Also: family, family, family. Work is bananas, but long summer evenings with the kids are the time to make memories. I love making a big deal of the sunset with my daughter…taking her up to the roof and admiring the magical ways of the sky.
REFILL THE TANK
Amri Kibbler, Co-Founder & Creative Director: “I don’t believe in following trends. I listen to what my body wants, indulge sometimes and generally feel like fresh food with lots of vegetables are the way to go! I eat 3 meals a day but don’t snack much and don’t really eat sweets. Fries and cheese are my indulgence – and it’s OK to indulge too. Refilling the tank also means unwinding to refocus. As the season shifts I am mindful and unplug from all tech!! Shoes off, feet on the earth. Nature really brings me back.”
