Growth spurts. Rapid weight gain. Pregnancy. The culprits of stretch marks or ‘straie’ are incredibly common, making this skin complaint one of the most treated skin conditions at our practice. Stretch marks are a type of scar, forming when the skin stretches so rapidly that the skin fibers cannot keep up, creating ribbon-like tears that show as vivid red when they first appear and fade into a silver/white color over time. You can blame genetics (some skin is more ‘elastic’ than others), but we recommend doing something about them. With the right combination of treatments, we can finally fade stretch marks into the memory they should be.

Stretch mark lotions and creams can only do so much. At Russak+, we tackle stretch marks with cutting-edge aesthetic devices that will leave skin looking smooth and resurfaced. For newer stretch marks, we can minimize discoloration with a skin brightening IPL treatment. For deeper and older marks, we might recommend a series of fractionated resurfacing laser treatments and RF microneedling (or collagen induction therapy) to stimulate new collagen production. At every phase, we’ll be focused on returning skin to its original state: healthy, supple and good as new.
At Russak Dermatology Clinic and Russak+ Aesthetic Center, we treat skin as an organ that reflects the health of the whole body. Whatever brings you to us, we look past the surface to what is driving the change: your hormones, your metabolism, your cellular energy, the way your body repairs itself. From there we build a plan that restores function rather than masking it, so the improvement holds. You can learn more about our approach to integrated wellness here, where we map out what long term skin health looks like for you.
Julie Russak is by far the best dermatologist I have ever visited. First off, her office is impeccable and looks like a museum. The front desk staff is always friendly and so are the medical assistants. Dr. Russak always gets the job done right and not once has she pressured me to spend any more money than I need to or suggest other procedures. If I ask her she’s very honest and professional.
