Hello, everyone! As a regenerative aesthetic dermatologist, I recently attended a groundbreaking Beauty Through Science (BTS) meeting in Stockholm, where I had a privilege to meet dynamic group of forward-thinking people discussing the future of skin regenerative treatments.
New Age of Regenerative Medicine
One of the most exciting aspects of the meeting was the emphasis placed on regenerative approaches to skincare and medicine overall. BTS brought together like-minded individuals who are disrupting the old understanding of treating the skin only on the outside. They fully embrace the concept of functional regenerative aesthetics and delve deep into the latest science and technology, understanding the importance of harnessing the body’s natural healing and regenerative abilities. The main emphasis of the meeting, promoting skin health from within, rather than relying solely on external superficial treatments, aligns perfectly with my philosophy as a regenerative aesthetic dermatologist. I firmly believe, the future of beauty and secret of perfect skin lies in unlocking inherent regenerative abilities of our skin from within.
We are approaching new age of regenerative medicine and skin rejuvenation is on the front row in this revolution. New excited regenerative procedures where discussed at BTS, including treatments utilizing exosomes and stem cells, bio-regenerative treatments utilizing peptides, combination of multiple different procedures to magnify the results and much more. We also discussed how epigenetic changes in our DNA affect our skin from the inside-out and how it will influence future of aesthetic medicine and how it will mold future regenerative procedures.
Exosomes.
Exosomes, the new kid on the block, are extracellular vesicles released by cells as an intercellular communication system. In other words, they are the envelopes, cells use to send messages to other cells. Exosomes released by regenerative cells are potent drivers of healing and repair. These bio-active vesicles contain multiple signaling molecules delivering signals for regeneration and healing to aging cells. They can be used in combination with any procedure to enhance collagen and elastin stimulation, thus increasing regenerative results.
Peptides
Another exciting development discussed at the meeting was the combining aesthetic procedures with bio-regenerative peptides or “skin priming”. Bio-regenerative peptides is a class of molecules that have the ability to support and promote biological regeneration in the body. Peptides are short chains of amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins. In the case of bio-regenerative peptides, these molecules are specifically designed or derived to stimulate cellular activity, tissue repair, and rejuvenation.
Multiple procedure combinations to improve skin laxity on the body were explored. Amazing results were shown by combining muscle stimulation with radiofrequency, microneedling and biostimulatory injections for stretch marks and loose skin on the abdomen, neck, chest, and knees. Procedures like Ultherapy + Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling, Laser Resurfacing + Dermal Fillers, Thread Lift + Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy, Radiofrequency (RF) Skin Tightening + High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound shows amazing results and they are all in the arsenal of procedures offered by Russak Dermatology Clinic.
Furthermore, BTS emphasized the significance of a holistic approach to beauty. They highlighted the importance of not only addressing external skincare concerns but also considering internal factors that influence our skin health. One of the topics was Biohacking. Using science and technology we can understanding the impact of diet, lifestyle, stress, and overall well-being on the skin’s appearance. BTS reinforced the idea that true beauty radiates from within, and to achieve optimal results, we must address all aspects of an individual’s health and lifestyle. At Russak Dermatology we offer Wellness Program which address exactly that. (need review)
Remember, true beauty is not merely skin-deep; it is a reflection of our overall health and well-being. Let’s continue pushing the boundaries of longevity and empowering individuals to feel confident in their unique beauty.
Wishing you all radiant and regenerative skin,
Dr. Julie Russak
